On Earth, the collective happiness of the planet’s people would seemingly be up to them–however this is not the case. Before the happiness on Earth was the responsibility of the Gods, the people of Earth were wracked with unnecessary war, mental illness, and capitalism. A powerful deity named Saccharine witnessed the humans’ transgressions and knew they could no longer be the responsible for their own Happiness. It was then that Saccharine assigned four Gods with the task of maintaining the happiness on Earth: Bravara the Goddess of Strength, Velorim the God of Vulnerability, Dulcimer the God of Sweetness, and Fizzala the Goddess of Effervescence. These four Gods were siblings, from the family of Gaiety, and wherever they went, balance followed. Saccharine noticed how each of the Gods possessed a quality that every person on Earth should exhibit, and assigned the Gods their task: Keep the people of Earth happy. This task was daunting, due to the havoc Melancholia had wreaked on Earth, but the Gods were up for the challenge. Through the Gods’ work, the people of Earth lived in peace and happiness for hundreds of years. Recently, however, an ominous black cloud from the God of Melancholia’s land has returned to Earth, causing the serene society that the Gods worked so hard to build, to begin to crumble and fall.
