Noctarion, the God of Melancholia and past lover of Saccharine, saw the joy the humans were feeling and became green with envy. How could the people of Saccharine's land feel joy when she had hurt him so? Scorned, he cast a black, thunderous cloud over the Earth and its inhabitants depression grew once more. With this, the peaceful and sweet society the Gods had built began to wither away; wars began, and the humans began being evil to each other like they were once before. Greed took over the world, and and individualistic mindset became the norm. The people of Earth began hoarding wealth and began turning on each other. This state of Earth bewildered the Gods, they had never seen their strength falter like this before. With the collective mental state of the humans inhabiting Earth quickly declining; the Gods knew they had to send the people of Earth a beacon of hope to hang on to and a light to burn through the darkness Noctarion had sent. Together, the Gods tried to think of ways to get that ominous, black cloud away from the surface of the planet to restore joy; should they fight Noctarion? Should they give the people of Earth the power to fight for themselves? Should they give the humans a beacon of hope? Together they decided to send the people of Earth a physical manifestation of happiness to give them hope; each God came forward to put their individual characteristics into this resource. Bravara added a tough exterior for strength, Velorim added a soft center for vulnerability, Dulcimer added a flavor of sweetness to remind humans to be sweet, and Fizzala added some tartness to remind humans it is okay to bite back at times.
